BACK TO SCHOOL!!

Ah, "Back to school". The three words that can cause excitement, panic, relief, fear, and happiness depending on who you talk to. Today though, I want to focus on those, ready for anything, college bound dormers!

Most likely you have made you last minute Target runs and are trying to set up the small but functional living space that will be yours for the year. Hooray! Now you're thinking, "how do I fit all this stuff in here and have a bit of style?!" Are you thinking that? Well even so, I've outlined below a few key elements of stylish dorm room, if, you are up for the challenge of being the evny of your peers this is.

1) O R G A N I Z A T I O N!

The key here is to use every ounce of space you have without making it look like a bomb just went off in your room. Lets focus on one spot here: The walls.

•Yep, those cork boards are easy to find this time of year but let's try something different! I love the idea of these fabric covered clip boards. You can find clip boards easy and cheap, and, I recommend instead of using fabric, save money by wrapping them in wrapping paper from the drug store. How easy is that!

•For the ladies, get rid of makeup bags and totes for now and try something like this: Its a picture frame (found,well, basically anywhere) and magnets. Can it be any easier, and cute?! Try it!

• Photos become a huge part of the dorm experience whether its the pic of Mom, Dad, Sparky, or a future photo of your new best friend. This one is SUPER easy. Get some string and grab some clothes pins and walah! Very fun way to dispaly and organize your photos.

2) Your Bed

Your bed is definitely the focal point of a dorm room and, is the largest and sometimes only piece of furniture you've got so make it look great!

• Make your bed. Didn't your Momma teach you this?! Its easy to forget when you're running late to class but it literally takes 3 minutes, if that. Plus Marth would be so proud :)

•Pillows! They are one of the only places you have to add color in a dorm so go crazy here. Besides, who wouldn't want to flop in a bed full of pillows after a hard day at school. Chose three to four colors and find pillows with those shades. Using this trick will give your eyes a break.

3) ARTWORK

No matter if you are in school for a creative major or not, art makes any space feel a little cooler.

• Colored tape can be your friend and make for some interesting artwork. Use it to add a pattern to that drab colored wall or as an easy way to frame your latest sketch.
